WWE has revealed that The Day Of: SummerSlam will be airing on the WWE Network immediately following NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff tonight.
The show will give a backstage look during WWE SummerSlam, showing the WWE Superstars before and after their matches at the event. WWE has posted a brief preview clip of what you can expect on the show, which you can see below:
Braun Strowman recently spoke with SportsKeeda.com where he revealed how it felt to not have a match at WWE SummerSlam this year.
Strowman was kept off the card due to not having any storylines heading into the event, but he has now been placed into a storyline with United States Champion AJ Styles, who he will face on WWE Raw next week.
Speaking about missing SummerSlam he said:
“Yeah, that was a pretty tough pill for me to swallow. But, at the same time, with me not being in a storyline, and they didn’t just want to shoehorn me in, just to have me on there for no reason. They’re doing a good job of making sure that any time Braun’s on TV, it’s something impactful.”
WWE Hall Of Famer, Edge, made a surprise appearance during the WWE SummerSlam Kick-Off show in what was an incredibly emotional return to Toronto.
The Rated R Superstar interrupted the latest Elias concert to a thunderous ovation from the Canadian crowd where he hit his first Spear since retiring from the company.
However, the night was emotional for him because of more than just that, with this weekend marking the first time he had returned to Toronto since his mom passed, as he explained in a heartfelt Instagram post.
After slaying the Beast once again during the main event of WWE SummerSlam to become a two-time Universal Champion, Seth Rollins caught up with WWE’s YouTube channel after the match.
With the title in hand, Seth Rollins went on to claim that the victory was the greatest of his career so far, claiming that WrestleMania was what it was, but that is the Brock Lesnar that he wanted to face.
After his WWE Championship match with Randy Orton ended in a count-out, Kofi Kingston has claimed that things between him and the Viper are not over.
Orton appeared to have the match tied up after a huge RKO, but the Viper then made things personal with Kofi’s family at ringside which saw the WWE Champion lose his cool, turning things into an all-out brawl with the count-out being the result.
In the end, Kingston would wield a kendo stick and destroy Orton, letting out all of his frustrations and whilst he admitted he is happy to still be WWE Champion, he isn’t satisfied with how the match ended. Kingston took to Twitter to make it clear that things between them are not over, not by a long shot.
Am I happy about still being WWE Champion? Of course. But I am NOT satisfied with the way the match ended. This thing between Randy and I, is not over. Not by a long shot.
WWE Hall Of Famer, Trish Stratus ended her in-ring career officially at WWE SummerSlam last night in a defeat to Charlotte Flair.
Whilst she admitted it wasn’t the result she had hoped for, Stratus said there was plenty of emotion and stated it was an honor and a privilege to compete against Charlotte Flair, admitting that the girls of today have built a skyscraper.
Trish said the fans are amazing for supporting her as long as they have, stating that it was an amazing evening.
