Get a load of this handsome stud! Ron Simmons signed with Florida State University straight out of high school and was considered one of FSU’s “greatest recruiting victories”. Simmons played at FSU for four years, from 1977 until 1980 as a defensive nose guard, earning Consensus All-America honors in ‘79 and ‘80. Simmons’ run with the Seminoles had a 39-8 win/loss record. In 1979, Simmons finished ninth in the Heisman voting. His jersey (number 50) was retired by FSU in 1988, only the third time a number had been retired in the school’s history. Simmons was inducted in the College Football Hall Of Fame in 2008.
