Cody Rhodes Announces Huge Main Event For ‘AEW Fight For The Fallen’

A battle of brothers may have left 50-year-old wrestling legend Dustin Rhodes a bloody mess at Saturday night’s AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view, but the artist formerly known as “Goldust” isn’t quite ready to hang up his boots just yet.

It was Cody who ultimately scored the victory in an almost unbelievably violent battle, bringing the sold-out crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to the highest of heights, and lowest of lowest of the emotional spectrum. After the match, however, the “American Nightmare” returned to the ring and made his blood-soaked sibling an interesting offer…

Cody stated that before Double or Nothing had even been announced, he signed his name to a contract for the upcoming AEW Fight for the Fallen event taking place this June in Jacksonville, FL. That contract effectively booked him in a tag team match with the parntner of his choosing, to take on the men he considers to be the greatest tag team in the world today – his fellow AEW Executive Vice Presidents, Nick and Matt Jackson, the Young Bucks.

You can probably see where I’m going with this.

On July 13th the brothers Rhodes will team together for the first time in more than four years, as Cody and Dustin (this time, without the ridiculous gimmicks attached) will indeed battle the Young Bucks at AEW Fight for the Fallen.

BREAKING: Jon Moxley Has Arrived In All Elite Wrestling

Jon Moxley has arrived in All Elite Wrestling.

The former WWE world champion shocked the world Saturday night in the closing moments of AEW’s debut pay-per-view event, Double or Nothing, immediately following the bloody main event war between Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega.

Moxley’s contract with WWE famously expired at the end of April, in a surprisingly public affair that saw him team with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns for multiple Shield send-offs across the country.

The artist formerly known as the “Lunatic Fringe” wasted very little time sending a message to everyone in the AEW locker room by dropping Jericho, Omega and even a referee with his signature double underhook DDT, previously known as Dirty Deeds.

Moxley didn’t stop there, however, as he battled with Omega around the arena before carrying him up a stack of giant casino chips bearing the All Elite Wrestling logo, once again hitting him with Dirty Deeds, before tossing him more than 10 feet down to the floor, breaking the stage upon impact.
